Update

So I realize I've disappeared from the blogging world for a bit (although I'm not even sure who still reads this thing). I also realize that these days, my blog is nothing more than a random update about the things that I do, with a little bit more verbage and thought than facebook will allow. However, if you have Facebook, chances are, you're pretty up-to-date.

I guess the main reason my blog posts have been lacking depth is due to the fact that I'm more shy and less open. Countless times in the past, I have opened up to people and just gotten badly burned. So I'm all the more careful. As much as I just want to vent my thoughts and frustrations over the many things that go on..........I'm just not ready to put it out there anymore.

So anyway, what's been up with me? Work work work and more work. I'm almost at my wits' end, and am definitely burnt out. I know I shouldn't complain, because out of all my co-workers, I'm probably the one who juggles work/life balance the best. I've still managed to keep up my social life and go out with my friends on a regular basis.

But everyone still needs a break from time to time, and I'm just at that point. Ask me a month ago, and I would tell you that I'm really happy at my job, and I love the people that I work with. Now, I still love the people that I work with, but the work is just getting frustrating. That and combined with the office politics that you begin to witness as you get more senior and well...but the thing is, I guess I shouldn't complain. I mean, isn't there office politics everywhere? Isn't that the nature of who we are as human beings? There will always be differences in opinion, hence politics. And with the economy in the shape that it is today, I'm really not in too much of a position to jump ship and find a more secure job. *sigh*

I think I just need a break - I've been pushing forward for the last few months, in my go-go-go momentum, but that momentum is just dying down. I just need to get through one more month of bad jobs/projects, and then it'll be vacation time! I can hardly wait! =)

But over the last month, I've had some fun activities!

For instance, the '06 Spring Roll party! It was really great to hang out with the Wongs again and to just get everyone together. I remember that night, just sitting there chilling and catching up with Johnny, Darren, Mike and Di, it definitely felt like old times - that nothing had changed since we left Queen's, and that we were still together, everyday. I guess it goes to show that no matter what, no matter how far apart we are geographically, we'll always have that.

I also went to my first non-Asian/non-church wedding! Elena's wedding was definitely a new and fun experience, and I'm really happy for her. Russian/Jewish weddings are definitely different from the standard Chinese Christian wedding that I've been to, but I had a good time!
